Episode 98-Matt Johnson, George Washington University-Building your culture from your staff to your freshmen

Episode 98Today we sit down and discuss building a your staff and weight room culture with George Washington University Director of Strength and Conditioning Matt Johnson. Matt starts out discussing the process of building his staff and developing them, and how they impact him as a coach as well. We then touch upon how that selection and developmental process lead into the culture of your weight rooms and how that culture begins with how you start with new athletes. The conversations finished with Matt discussing some different way’s he’s been able to coach international athletes who didn’t speak English well, how it’s been a challenge at times, but more importantly, how it’s made him a better coach.
