My Thoughts Monday #23- Jay DeMayo, University of Richmond- Be Careful, We May Need The Hand That Feeds Us

“There’s been a lot of positives that have come not just for individual coaches, but for coaches in the profession as a whole because of our connections to specific sport coaches.”

For this weeks My Thoughts Monday I play devils advocate in the discussion as to where S and C coaches should report and the role in sport coaches in our profession. I touch upon:

1) Increases in our ability to individualize working with less teams
2) Increased staff
3) Increased compensation
4) Increased involvement within the team

This is all just a devils advocate look at the idea of us completely separating ourselves from sport coaches. There are many things that have had a positive impact on the profession that may go away, or return to the "way it was" not so long ago.
